“Rebuilding Ayurveda” by G.L. Krishna is a thought-provoking anthology of essays, originally published in various journals, newspapers, and web portals. These essays have undergone revisions, offering readers a refined perspective on Ayurveda’s philosophy, practice, and research.
Krishna’s work carries pathbreaking implications for how Ayurveda is approached and understood today. With each essay, he challenges established beliefs and invites readers to reconsider the fundamental approach to Ayurveda. From questioning the dosha theory to advocating for a holistic approach over reductionism, Krishna navigates through complex topics with clarity and insight.
The book begins with an exploration of Ayurveda’s guiding philosophy, setting the stage for deeper inquiries into its history and contemporary relevance. Chapters delve into the dosha theory, proposing a reimagining of its role as a heuristic rather than a rigid framework.
Drawing from his experience and research, Krishna critiques the current state of Ayurveda education and practice, highlighting the need for critical thinking and innovation within the field. He challenges readers to confront superstitions and embrace truth-seeking in their pursuit of Ayurvedic knowledge.
Through articles published in prestigious outlets like The Hindu and insightful blog posts, Krishna offers a comprehensive view of Ayurveda’s challenges and opportunities in the modern world. His writing is both accessible and profound, making “Rebuilding Ayurveda” a must-read for anyone interested in unlocking the true potential of this ancient science.
With optimism tempered by realism, Krishna invites readers on a journey of rediscovery, urging the Ayurvedic establishment to embrace change and adaptation. “Rebuilding Ayurveda” is not just a collection of essays; it is a call to action, challenging us to rethink our approach to health, healing, and holistic well-being in the 21st century.
