Additional Information about the subject and book:

Around 1200 years ago, Adishankaracharya tied the essence of all religion and laid the foundation of humanity as the only identity. A similar step was undertaken by Acharya Vagbhat in the 6th Century AD; who made a compilation of all available literature for the easy learning of Ayurveda. The book presented by him was named as the Ashtanga Hridaya.

Subjects of science, social science, geography, environment and biology upto 12th standards are much essential to learn the subject of Ayurveda; but with different perspective. The linear mathematics of triangle or rectangle needs a different approach to have sound knowledge of digestion & metabolism in non-linear human system. Silent language of such Ayurveda fundamental principle and customize clinical medicine has described in Ashtanga Hridaya with updated and applicable sense.

Shlokas in this book are beautifully analysed with easy Sanskrit words, presented in data-figure-tables and with proper heading and captions that are reader friendly. The simple language of description will definitely encourage readers to realize the secrets of medicine & research embodied within the ancient shlokas in the Samhitas. This book will feed the curiosity of students, teachers and researcher of Ayurveda. Importance has also been given to share clinical as well as social examples while discussing the concepts. The Author has intended to present this book in the best form that is suitable to the students while also covering the syllabus.

Ashtanga Hridaya has been composed to realize its core concept, which is to be healthy by expanding our inner consciousness. This essence has been retained while explaining all the Shlokas in this book; this is what our preceptors like Acharya Vagbhat & other Rishis may have wanted after all, to make आयुर्वेद as जगतगुरु.
