Why joints feel stiff
Stiff knees in the morning, an aching back or sore fingers become more common with age, long hours of sitting, extra body weight and cold, damp weather. Ayurveda links many such complaints with Vata, the dosha of movement and dryness, and with the build-up of Ama, a sticky residue of poor digestion.
This guide covers daily habits that are often suggested for joint comfort and explains where an Ayurvedic tablet may fit. It is general information and does not replace an examination.
Keep moving, gently
Joints stay supple with use. Walking, stretching, yoga and swimming are common choices. Avoid sitting in one position for hours, and stand up and move every 30 to 45 minutes. If a movement hurts sharply, stop and ask your doctor or a physiotherapist.
Keeping body weight in a healthy range reduces the load on the knees and hips.
Stay warm
Cold and damp tend to make stiffness worse. Warm clothing, a warm bath and a gentle massage with warm sesame oil are traditional Vata care. A warm compress on a sore joint feels comfortable for many people.
Eat for your joints
Warm, freshly cooked food with a little ghee and spices such as ginger, turmeric and garlic suits Vata. Very cold, dry, stale or heavily processed food does the opposite. Many people feel better when they eat lighter at night and keep their digestion regular.
About Muscalo
Muscalo is an Ayurvedic tablet (60 tablets) that helps support joint comfort and mobility. The pack lists Maharasnadi, Shallaki (Boswellia serrata), Rasasindur, Hirabor, Nirgundi (Vitex negundo), Shuddha Guggulu, Ashwagandha, Shuddha Vatsnabh and Triphala powder.
Maharasnadi is a classical formulation traditionally used for stiffness and joint discomfort. Shallaki, Nirgundi and Guggulu are herbs traditionally used for joint health. Ashwagandha is used to help the body handle stress, and Triphala supports digestion. Dosage and pack details are on the product page. If your complaint involves nerve pain, see also our guide on nerve comfort, which covers Nervetica.
Making the most of your visit
Before you start Muscalo, write down the medicines and supplements you already take, any allergies, and any conditions you have been told about. Ask your physician three things: whether Muscalo suits you, how long to use it, and which signs mean you should stop and call. Bring the pack so the ingredient list can be read together. Ayurvedic medicines are meant to fit into your overall care, and your physician can adjust the plan if your needs change.
Habits matter more than any single product. Pick one or two changes from this guide, keep them for a few weeks and see how you feel. Small, steady changes are easier to keep than a long list.

When to see a doctor
A hot, red or swollen joint, pain that wakes you at night, stiffness lasting more than an hour each morning, a recent fall or injury, or a sudden loss of movement all need a medical check. Joint problems can have different causes, and the right treatment depends on the cause.
